In our last post on August 14th, we announced that Jublia was going to Korea to participate in a 3.5 month acceleration in the K-Startup Grand Challenge.
It has been an intense program and we focused on getting the key hires, localisation, building partnerships and market penetration. The most important learning has been to adapt to business culture and finding the right fit, as the challenge is not just the language barrier but fighting the right fit for the industry.
The final demo day was on the 5th of October and from 1770 startups applying down to the chosen 80. Now after 3 months, we’ve made it to the top 40! We even received a glowing testimony from one of the judges who looks forward to using Jublia at Startup conferences that he heads to (because we know time is money!)
We’re happy with our initial results and we’re looking forward to servicing the Korean market further. We aspire to take South Korea’s MICE industry further on a global stage.
I’d like to thank several the Ministry of Startups and SMEs, NIPA, GCCEI for taking us in this program. I’d also like to thank our accelerator, ABLE Ventures + Tdu + StationNEO for providing us with the support and network. Last but not least - the Jublia team for the support. Especially James Lee, our new Country Manager in Korea who has helped us navigate our localisation efforts.
Jublia will have a booth at the upcoming EXCON Week Korea 2019 held in Coex from 16th-17th January 2019. Reach out to us if you're going to be in town!
