On the 16th of January, SACEOS awarded Jublia with the pioneering award — circle of excellence & innovation. To be recognized as a pioneer in the industry means a great deal to everyone working in the Jublia team, and we want to take a moment to express our sincerest gratitude. First, we would like to thank SACEOS for the prestigious award — it is an honour to us and will surely motivate continued innovativeness. We would also like to thank our customer-base, associations and industry partners for supporting Jublia’s vision of intelligent content discovery and business matching. Winning an award as a pioneer in this space makes us reminisce our formative years. Let’s take a short walk down memory lane.

How it all started

The Jublia story began back in in 2013 when three students from National University of Singapore got admitted for exchange studies at KTH in Stockholm, Sweden. They were going to develop a company for a school project.

After attending a few events, it became apparent that there were major flaws in the ability to network at events; in a space of 1000 people, how many can you properly meet with? Turns out that people attend events for (literally) two reasons: to find relevant contacts who could bring them business, and to find relevant content about the industry. The students realised this and came up with a solution for which they received an A grade. Despite not knowing each other and coming from different majors, the students came together with ONE unified vision and founded Jublia. Without any external funding or prior experience in the sector, they had created an industry-leading company which 7 years later is being awarded the SACEOS pioneering award.

The name Jublia originates from the Swedish word “Jubla”, which translates into “cheer”. The word was found on a post-it note on a refrigerator in the dormitory kitchen where the founders stayed during their exchange in Sweden.

Welcome to the future

Today Jublia’s technologies are used in thousands of events all over the world. We support 9 different languages and we have representatives/partner offices in Singapore, USA, South Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brazil and Europe. So what’s next?
