It’s been a long journey

The event landscape has been nothing but dynamic, resulting in a whole new level of engagement, technological development and customer demands. Our team of experts at Jublia have been hard at work, partnering with organizers around the world to realize their event utopia, and we’ve documented the top 5 ways successful events can capture their audiences.

1. Be digitally inclusive

In an ideal hybrid event, both live and virtual participants should have equal access to active engagement opportunities. Live solutions are well-established and handle this with ease, but the virtual half is often neglected due to the perceived hassle of setting up the infrastructure and concurrently managing two events at once.

Those perceptions are outdated — many event tech providers have evolved to sport intuitive planning interfaces that make setting up the virtual platform a breeze. For example, with engagement enhancements like Pigeonhole Live on Jublia, organizers can easily curate a fruitful event experience that wholly includes virtual attendees in the event community.

2. Cut the fluff — get to the point!

With remote offices becoming commonplace, our work processes have exponentially digitized, enabling us to process more information in less time. Unfortunately, this also comes with a caveat: our digital attention spans are significantly reduced due to the sheer amount of information. We now want articles to be concise, newsletters to summarize more in less and hybrid events to give exactly what we want.

No one wants complex platforms with too many features that bog down their experiences. Rather, people want the path of least resistance to their end-goals: did this event provide the leads/contacts/knowledge that I needed?

It’s key to not only think of what your audiences want, but also how they can achieve it — and picking the right platform that provides a ‘humans first, features second’ approach will leave them satisfied beyond their initial expectations.

3. Design your content around your audiences, not the other way around

The shorter digital attention spans have also emphasized the need for online-friendly content: hour-based conferences just don’t work due to the overwhelming amount of knowledge in an ineffective environment. Instead, organizers should alternate large sessions with smaller, focused discussions in-between, enabling both live and virtual attendees to absorb, discuss and affirm their learning before getting back into the fray.

The platform plays a part in this as well — having the ability to record and host the sessions on-demand would not only provide an easy way to recall discussions, but also include and enrich those who could not participate live with the exact insights, leaving no attendee straggling behind. Thankfully, Jublia’s RTMP feature is entirely capable of handling this from start to finish by automatically creating video-on-demand from live-streams.

4. Think beyond the PowerPoint slides — Experiential Content

If long sessions are inevitable, why not make them as entertaining as possible? Like hybrid formats, event audiovisual production has rapidly developed in the past year, enabling organizers to plan stageless experiences that make use of xR — extended reality — to captivate their audiences.

A handful of great examples include Apple’s Unleashed, Nvidia’s GTC and Intel’s Innovation. These events evolved beyond the normal stage with xR, making great use of scenery transitions and visual effects that easily drew in anyone’s attention.

5. Empower your audiences to find what they want

Of course, what good would curated content be if your audiences can’t find the sessions that best suit their purposes and interests? Discovery is of essence, but in a virtual context, finding the right person or session to attend isn’t the easiest task considering the copious amount of options available. With event platforms, however, matching your audiences to what they exactly need is within a few clicks, and thankfully, that’s what we do best.

All of Jublia’s solutions are driven by RevRank AI, our intelligent matching algorithm that pairs people with other highly relevant attendees or content sessions based on their interests. Optimized over 8 years and several thousands of events, RevRank AI is able to empower any event to its full potential through data-driven insights.
